Today was an ordinary Monday...except for the fact that it was the day before my mom was leaving to go to Kenya for six months. That's a long time. I don't think we've ever been apart that long. We didn't do much today just some light shopping, mani/pedis and preparing the last supper with mother dearest before her big trip. It all seemed so final yet it felt like the beginning of something new. V.K. came over for dinner too and made his famous Ellen's Door Martinis. Twas a good night.
